Photographer Booked!

For Kathryn's newborn pictures, we used Lashonda McGregor.  And, Lashonda is an amazing photographer.  I was so sad when she moved out of state.  Since Lashonda is no longer here, I began researching local photographers that matched Lashonda's style of photography and came across Courtney Zenner.  I have several friends that have used Courtney and have been very pleased with her services.  So, I have decided to go with Courtney, and I am looking forward to working with her on baby Luther's newborn session!

Looking good Baby Luther

Yesterday I had an appointment with NP Suzanne Underwood.  At this point, I will have an appointment every 4 weeks.  The appointment was short and sweet.  Suzanne was able to find the baby's heartbeat immediately, and the beat was loud and strong.  Everything sounded great, and I am doing well.  Next month in addition to our appointment with Suzanne, we will also have an ultrasound.  We can't wait to see how much our sweet baby has grown.

Welcoming the 2nd Trimester

Well, I don't have much to report, but I felt the need to update...
I am now 13 weeks pregnant and in the second trimester.  I am not sure how much weight I have gained, but I am going to be in maternity clothes much sooner this pregnancy.  Everyone says that after the first pregnancy, expecting moms tend to wear maternity clothes sooner...I guess your body really does have a "memory."  With Kathryn, I gained 40 pounds.  I am hoping this time around to stay more around the 30 pound mark.  I am not going to obsess over it.  I am just going to enjoy the pregnancy.  Once baby Luther is born, I plan to hit the gym hard!

Proud Big Sister

Big Sister Kathryn has been spreading our news at The Red Barn.  As per her teachers, she was so excited to share with everyone that she is going to be a Big Sister.  And, I love that when anyone asks if she would like to have a brother or sister, she replies, "just a baby."  We have explained to her multiple times that she can't really choose the gender, and it seems like she is understanding that.  I think Kathryn is going to be an awesome and helpful Big Sister!!!

Hello Heartburn

During my pregnancy with Kathryn, I felt great the entire time.  My only pregnancy symptom was heartburn.  Well, wouldn't you know, the heartburn has returned!  Thank goodness for Tums (in the smoothie flavors).  I find myself eating those after most meals.  Other than that, I am feeling very much back to my normal self.  No more nausea, and I think I am not as grumpy and short tempered.  I am still tired most evenings, but I chalk that up to having to get up every morning at 5 AM and teach special education middle schoolers.  We are now 12 and a half weeks pregnant.  The first trimester flew by!

A Whirwind 48 hours!

So Saturday, we announced to my side of the our big news, and Sunday, we announced to the Luthers.  Since then, things have spiraled and it has been a busy 48 hours of giving lots of thanks.  First, the Luthers were surprised!  Papa said he kind of thought something was up...he actually said he either thought we were pregnant or getting a divorce since Kyle went out to the Deli's Last Bash and I stayed home with Kathryn.  He is too funny!  But, he is correct in that we rarely do things apart, especially go out without one another.  Mimi was very excited and surprised.  I think she was surprised the most.  From there, we told Jay and Michael.  They were both excited.  Monday morning when I got to work, I emailed the pictures out to my co-workers, and Kyle did the same with his co-workers.  Monday night, we emailed our friends at the same time to share our news, and followed up by posting our "feet" picture on Facebook.  We have received an overwhelming amount of congratulations and support.  We feel so loved!  So, the word is out, and I believe everyone in Clarksville knows we are officially expecting a sibling for Kathryn.

And the announcements begin!

My friend Lauren (who happens to be a wonderful photographer), got the pictures to me today.  She did an awesome job, and they turned out just as I had hoped. We decided to travel on to Hopkinsville today to announce to my mom and Momma Hope.  We stopped by to see mom first.  Kathryn gave mom a framed copy of this picture...
Mom was definitely more surprised than I thought she would be.  I think she had decided we were done with the trying process.  She was definitely excited, and I am glad she knows so know we can talk about it.  Afterwards, we headed to Momma Hope's and gave her a framed copy of the same picture.  Momma Hope was very excited, but she was not surprise.  I think she was kind of expecting it.  Next, we all headed to the Woodshed for a delicious BBQ dinner.  In the meantime, I emailed Kristin, Jeff (well, Aimee...Jeff doesn't email), and Brandon the pictures (the pic above) and the second picture is this...
They were all very happy for us!  Now, we are home and winding down for the night.  Tomorrow we will tell Kyle's side of the family.  I think they will be pretty surprised.  Sunday evening, I will call and email a few specific friends, and Monday, I will share our news with my co-workers.  Exciting times for the Luther family!!!

Getting Excited

Yesterday, my friend Lauren came over to take a couple of pictures for us.  Our plan is to use the pictures to announce our pregnancy to our families this weekend.  I am super excited!  I think the pictures are going to turn out really cute, and I think it will be the perfect way to share our news.  I can't wait to see the pictures AND make our announcement!
