A Surprise Baby Sprinkle!

This past Saturday, I was more than surprised by a baby sprinkle and overwhelmed by the out pour of love from family and friends.  Saturday morning, I was under the impression that I was meeting up with Kailey and Becky for a day at the spa.  Therefore, I wore my regular, plain Jane clothes and very little make up.  Much to my surprise, when I got to Kailey's, I was being thrown a baby sprinkle.  I was so in shock, that all I could do was cry.  I was truly that surprised.  Usually, I have a pretty good sense of what is going on, and this time I really had no clue.  I was especially shocked to see that my sister Kristin drove over 4 and a half hours from Athens to attend the shower.  She is truly the best big sister and friend a girl could ask for!  Once I was able to pull myself together, we all enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by one of my favs The Puffy Muffin.  Then we all had some yummy cake while I opened presents for baby Luther.  Baby Luther received lots of goodies to include a much needed bouncer seat, lots of consumables such as lotion, bath wash, rash cream, and diapers, some sweet clothes, accessories for the nursery, a gift certificate for diapers.com, a memory book, and the list goes on.  Afterwards, we all headed to get a pedicure together.  It was honestly the best baby sprinkle.  I felt so loved and honored that everyone wanted to do something special for baby Luther and me.  I am beyond blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in my life.

Below are a few pics from the day.  Thanks again to Momma Pam, Mimi, Kristin, Aimee, Kailey, Becky, Stephanie, Haven, and Courtney.  My surprise sprinkle was the best!

30 weeks pregnant

I had an appointment today, and all is well!  I passed my three hour glucose screening which means I do not have gestational diabetes.  Baby Luther is measuring about 2 weeks larger than my due date, but since we know when we conceived, my due date will remain August 20th.  Daddy is thinking baby Luther might be here one month early.  If so, I better get busy getting things ready.  After my appointment today, I did make a run to Target and Babies R Us to pick up a few things.  I bought a new bouncy seat (we literally wore out the one we had with Kathryn), some burp cloths, bibs, diapers, baby wash, lotion, q-tips, etc.  The only thing left on my list to get is a Bumbo.  I am wanting a new Bumbo with a tray.  Target and Babies R Us only had them in pink or blue.  Since we are not sure of the gender, I think a green Bumbo would be best...probably going to need to make a Nashville run to find it in green.  Daddy and I have been pondering baby names.  We have not come up with anything for sure, but we do have a few names we both like which is a good start.  I can't believe baby Luther will be here in less than 10 weeks.  I know these next two months are going to fly by!

Darn Glucose Test

So, my doctor's office called last week with the news that I failed my one hour test.  UGH!  As per doctor's orders, I followed a high carb diet for three days and today went in for the three hour test.  The last thing I felt like doing was drinking that horrible orange drink and then sitting at the lab for over three hours.  None the less, I had to do it.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I do not have gestational diabetes.  Results to come in a day or two...
